Game of Thrones Season 8: Three BURNING Questions We Still Have Game of Thrones Season 8: Three BURNING Questions We Still Have

16 Apr , 2019

I usually don’t start an article with a spoiler warning, but if you haven’t watched Game of Thrones season 8 yet, TURN BACK. NOW.

Season 8 finally debuted Sunday and we’re here for it! Magical dragon rides, awkward and heartwarming reunions, and of course a hint of Game of Thrones symbolism. But with all of these things wrapped into one episode, we didn’t get to see any details on the Walkers. We’ve got plenty of questions for what’s to come and instead of writing another loaded paragraph, I’m going to dive into the q’s.

Who is the Night King and what does he want?

This is probably the question everyone has, but who is The Night King? I personally don’t believe he’s The Mad King, but the Bran Stark theory makes a little more sense. Bran warging back through time, getting caught up and now he’s back to become himself again… but it still wouldn’t make sense why he needs an entire undead army. Would Bran really come back a villain who wants to take as many in his path? Let’s not forget Hardhome, the White Walkers wanted everything and everyone and all they did was invade and destroy.

So c’mon, Benioff and Weiss, give us the answer! Why is the Night King tearing down everything in his way? Does he want the Seven Kingdoms or to build his own from the rubble?

Will Jon Snow tell Dany about his heritage?

“King of the bloody Seven Kingdoms!”

Our jaws hit the floor when Sam told Jon about his parents. Half Targaryen, half Stark, that’s gotta be the coolest crossover of the show. While we’re happy for Jon, how the hell will Daenerys react when she finds out? They’ve formed a cringy (or cute, however you look at it) relationship, but will this revelation tear it down?

Look, they could pit Jon and Dany against each other, the people are are going to choose Jon. However, with Dany chanting for anyone to “bend the knee” she’s going to be scorching hot about this message. But we want to know, will this cause outrage or compliance? We know our Queen, this isn’t going to end well…

Which major character will die first?

WOOOO if you saw the episode your heart was racing when the undead Umber lord was raising from the dead right behind Tormund—we all thought he was a goner! But, luckily he was spared and we can keep our red headed wilding friend! But it begs the question, WHO is the first major character to go?! Will we lose Jaime? The Hound? Or maybe even someone as big as Daenerys herself?!
One of the juiciest things about Game of Thrones is the theme of no one is safe. Anyone going for that Throne could bite the dust at ANY moment. So who will it be first, and why this individual?

So many more questions are bubbling around in our heads, but sometimes we only have time for a few. What are questions you’re dying to have answered? Let us know in the comments below!

We did an analysis on the characters and why certain characters aren't dead yet. Check it out:
