Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 7 Episode 1 Review

Yesterday started the end of an era for Marvel television. The last main Marvel TV show, not on a streaming service, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. aired the first episode of its final season on ABC last night, and it did not disappoint. They do everything to make you entertained with this new story and make sure that this season will be an epic sendoff to the show.

The episode begins with the scene shown in most of the trailers, with the Chronicoms stealing the faces of 1930’s police officers. This season is bound to get weird if this is the opening that they give us. We then are shown the title card that now has a 1930’s atheistic to it, which I LOVE!

This episode continues with a plot that involves Patton Oswalt’s new character Ernest Koenig, and FDR. I will not go into anymore details in case you have not watched the episode.

The episode features nods to the events of past seasons, making you really invested in the story. The acting in the episode is also superb, with very good performances throughout. The actors who play the Chronicoms do a great job portraying emotionless robots, and Clark Gregg as Coulson is, as always, a treat.

Some parts of the episode are amazing, such as at the beginning, which features the new LMD Coulson, as he contemplates his new life as a robot. It gets very emotional. The twists that the episode provides are epic, making you sad that you have to wait another week for this story to continue.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Season 7 Episode 1’s Rating: 9.5/10

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns next week, June 3rd, at 10pm PT.
